I am a reduced mobility driver. Can I be exempt from payment in toll stations?

Veronica Solås

Reduced mobility drivers with a valid municipality-issued parking permit are entitled to free passage in toll rings in urban areas. This requires signing an exemption agreement and receiving a tag for your car.
The parking permit must be valid for at least two years.

The exemption currently applies to the following locations:

  • Askøypakken
  • Bomringen i Bergen
  • Bypakke Bodø and rv. 80 Vikan
  • Bypakke Grenland
  • Førdepakken
  • Haugesund
  • Kristiansand
  • Namsos
  • Nordhordlandspakken (fra 01.12.19)
  • North Jæren
  • Oslo and Bærum
  • Trondheim (only applies to toll stations included in the environmental package)
  • Harstad
  • Kråkerøyforbindelsen

Exemption for one vehicle

If you have reduced mobility and a valid parking permit that lasts for two years, you can apply for exemption from tolls to the toll road operator with which you have an agreement. A copy of your municipality-issued parking permit must be enclosed the application. Your agreement with your toll road operator will include an exemption from payment of the above toll rings. The tag is linked to one vehicle only and cannot be moved between vehicles. If you change your vehicle, you have to notify the toll company.
Exemption does not include institutions.

Children with reduced mobility

Parents who have children with reduced mobility and where the child has a parking permit, may apply to the toll road operator for two vehicles that are exempt from charges in toll rings.
