The following rate groups apply for passage through toll stations in Norway:

Heavier vehicles: Vehicles in vehicle group M1 weighing more than 3500 kg must have an electronic tag and a valid agreement in order to be included in rate group 1.

Rate Group 2

Vehicles with a total permitted weight from and including 3501 kg, with the exception of vehicles registered in vehicle group M1.
Mandatory tag: Vehicles that are registered to a company or used for commercial purposes must have an electronic toll tag with a valid contract for rate group 2.

Rate Groups in environmental differentiation

Facilities operating with environmentally differentiated rates may have up to four different rates for rate group 1 and rate group 2.
Rate group 1 is divided into zero-emissions vehicles, plug-in hybrids, diesel, and other (petrol, gas, ethanol, etc.).
Rate group 2 is divided into zero-emissions vehicles, plug-in hybrids, Euro VI and Pre-Euro VI.
Mopeds/motorcycles only pay toll fees at the sole manual toll station: Atlanterhavstunnelen, which uses separate rate categories.
